Denver Post Underground Music Showcase has great local music from Denver Colorado.

Dan Craig

There’s something magnetic about Dan Craig’s music. Often compared to artists like Damien Rice, Ryan Adams, and Josh Ritter, “the innocence of Craig’s songwriting and the seasoned scratch of his voice” give way to the unique, yet reminiscently inviting music that he has become known for in Colorado over the past year. His 2006 release, Wirebird, ranges from subtly introspective to out and out experiential and has been described as “richly woven and literate…tales of people, portraying snapshots of life, begging for headphones.” (playbackstl.com)

Born and raised in Denver, CO, Craig was always attracted to the independent spirit of his hometown. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004, he moved back to Colorado balancing medical school with a budding music career. Leaving medical school in January of 2008, Dan has been actively crafting his own songwriting and performing as well as contributing to other local music projects. This spring saw the release of a brand new full-length record, Skin Grows Thin, an “earthy storybook” focused around melodic acoustic arrangements with a backing band and some friends and guests from the growing Denver scene.
