the World Romantic

Hello.
The World Romantic was born in radio waves and sleepless dreams. Settling into the Denver scene with a background in classical music and the violin, James Dzuris, along with brother Joseph, began refining their musical ideas and playing with different bands in an effort to breathe in some of the fever that their favorite groups were creating. Currently settled with bassist Trevor Noel and Chicago bred guitarist Mikey Griffith, their gaze is now focused on their own place in the big lights. They are presently playing shows and working to gain momentum following the recording of their new EP, One Hundred Million Lights.
“It’s difficult these days to sound completely fresh, and we would love to feel like we’ve drawn on everything we are influenced by and taken it all in our own direction. We’ve just been looking for this sound, that’s the easiest way to put it, and it has taken some time. It’s consuming my mind actually. It sounds like an airport at 5 am, just before the sun comes up. It feels like headphones in the New York City rain,” James says. “And it tastes like cigarettes and coffee, kind of.” The songs are at the same time intelligent and easy to absorb, and come emotionally charged to the core. From stadium anthems with giant guitars, to haunting melodies and ethereal pianos, the ideas are big and the music follows suit. Stay tuned, The World Romantic have just gotten started…
“Denver band The World Romantic is something of an anomaly: With its irony-free moniker and vast, sweeping melodies, the band offers an epic reinterpretation of the traditional love song, employing classical piano lines and the sort of production values usually associated with stadium acts.” ~ The Onion
