Denver Post Underground Music Showcase has great local music from Denver Colorado.

Overheard approx. 1,453 times this month: “I looooove yer website!”

Well, thank you very much.

But really, now, we can’t take any of that credit. All we did was see way too many rock shows over the years with our pal Sean Porter, and then one day at the Hi-Dive or Bluebird or Larimer, Sean was like, “Maybe we could build a website for the UMS.”

You see, it turns out Sean is quite the Web guru. And I was so over the moon that I bought that boy a shot of tequila. (Or some other amber-shaded devil juice.) And with that shot, the deal was sealed.

Sean and his business partner at Dayjob, Todd Roeth, berthed dpums.com a few short weeks later. (Papas and baby are exceptionally well, and the labor was painless, exquisite and quite artful.) They created the software that powers this magic, and it’s called Marquee; it’s also used at familiar sites such as The Hi-Dive, The Gothic Theatre, The Belly Up Aspen and more rock institutions to come.

We think it’s kinda hott.

The Dayjob boys – who find their online home at www.dayjobinc.com (note the logo of radness) – are kind of a big deal. And we’re lucky they love and appreciate rock ‘n’ roll, especially the kind that comes out of Colorado.

Sean and Todd are kinda like GI Joe. They’re real American heroes. And like so many others volunteering their time and skills for the UMS, they’re all-time No. 1 champions worthy of gold medals, blue ribbons and gigantic BMX trophies.

Thank you, Sean and Todd. And thank you to everybody else has been so amazingly generous in the lending of their time and talents.

Saturday is going to own.
